My Cars - Retired

They SpYder was a compromise "motorcycle" that I've always wanted. We have a lot of fun with this, and ride regularly with other SpYder ryders.

I traded in my 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet on the 2001 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo. This car was built to my specifications like my prior 911, but is MUCH faster with 420 horsepower, twin turbo chargers and a top speed of 186 MPH.

We special ordered this 2002 Maserati Spyder in March2002. It has a new generation Formula 1 transmission that Maserati calls "Cambiocorsa" - a manual gear box, but without using a manual clutch. Shifting is done via "paddle shifters" located behind the steering wheel. Lydia will probably drive this car more than I!

I had my Lamborghini for about 3 years, and ultimately ended up selling it because I wasn't driving it very much. In 3 years, I drove it less than 5000 miles because I wouldn't drive it in bad weather, and was very mindful of where I was going and how difficult it would be to find a good parking space. It was fun while it lasted!

The '99 Porsche 911 was my first high performance sports car, and the start of everything else I ended up getting involved with, including racing, getting more sports cars and buying the property next door so that I could have a large garage. I ended up trading in this 911 for a 2001 911 Twin Turbo.

I bought my first racecar from Don and ran it at the Porsche Club driver's education events as well as in SCCA races. I ended up selling it so that I could get into a faster car, which was the 1995 BMW M3.

Buddy originally converted this 1979 RX7 into an IT car to race SCCA. He ran it for a few years, then sold it to a local guy who ran it a few times. We picked up this second race car so that Patrick can run on the track. We'll do some driver schools, let my brother take it out, and Buddy and I will race it together in SCCA some.
